Just the Beginning

It has been a BUSY summer.  Brennan and I took a trip to Boise in May to visit my brother and sister in law who graduated from BSU.  Way to go Nathan and Ashley!!

BSU Class of 2012
Some of the family

Thank you Aunt Emily and Uncle Tucker for keeping Brennan entertained!

When Steve finished his first year of medical school we headed over to Lewiston to stay with my family for a couple weeks.  Steve had planned several hunting trips about a year ago and got a much needed vacation after hours and hours of studying.  Brennan and I had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandma Leavitt showed Brennan how to cook.
We feed Grandpa's horses, fish, cat and dog several times a day.
Steve celebrated his 27th Birthday!  Four people to light a cake and a toddler to supervise....so OLD!
Happy Birthday Steve!

MMMmmm!  My mom and sister Emily did an amazing job on the cheese cake.

We also threw a baby shower for my sister in law Ashley.  Yup...the one who just graduated in May.  School and pregnancy...it makes me want to nap just thinking about it!  My mom, Amber, Emily and I all planned a baby shower for her and it turned out pretty amazing.  Ashleys mom came to the rescue and helped us set up decorations and prepare food.  Thanks a bunch Tanya!!!

Lions, Tigers and OMSI. Oh My!

After visiting the Children's Museum in Portland we decided to visit a couple more sites before heading to the beach.  We hit the Oregon Zoo and OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry).  It was mid week so we were able to visit two sites in one day with plenty of time to spare.

This picture cracks me up.  I think Steve took it because there is an arrow pointing to what looks like Brennan and I that says Prowling Cats.  He thinks he is SOOO funny!

Driving through the Safari.
Feeding the birds.
And of course an afternoon of slashing in puddles.  He is 100% boy!

After a quick lunch we made a stop to OMSI.  I love OMSI.  My family would go there every time we went to Portland.  If you have not been there before it is amazing.  You MUST go!

Brennan learned all about the food groups.
Appeared on the weather channel.
They even had a room for kids.

Like father...
 Like son!

We raced boats.
And played with puzzles.

The highlight of the day was watching a OMNIMAX movie.  It is larger than IMAX and almost makes you sick!  We had a great day learning about science, experimenting and having fun.  What a day!

Rainy Day

Today it is raining here in Washington.  Surprise right??  It reminded me of our spring break trip that we took last month in Portland, OR.  It was great to spend a WHOLE WEEK with Steve!  Our first day in Portland we were able to do some fun things for Brennan.

Our first stop was the children's museum

They had different rooms and stations set up for kids to explore and learn.
They had a pottery room...
A cars and train room...
A supermarket...
A water room...
A digging room and the list goes on!  He played for hours running around and meeting new kids.  He had so much fun and we loved watching him discover new things!

Baby Bremmer

Something must be in the water here in Yakima.  Right now about a gazillion of my friends are prego.  I was lucky enough to throw a baby shower for my neighbor and AWESOME friend Cristina.  She has two amazing kids and a little boy on the way at the end of June.  I am so excited for her so we had to celebrate!

With lots of food.

And sweet treats.  She has gestational diabetes so this didn't help.

Glowing mama

And a party wouldn't be complete without the ohhs and ahhs!

PNWU Fun Run /Walk

A couple of weeks ago Steve informed me that he signed us up for a fun run through the school.  I was not sure how the run would be fun at all.  It was only a 5K run/walk.   I was just glad he didn't sign us up for a marathon.  The morning turned out to be better than I expected!

We put together strollers and loaded them with water and snacks for the kids.  How cute is she!

They had two large bouncy houses set up for the kiddos to play.  Brennan on the right going up the slide could not get enough of the fun.  I think this was the fun they were talking about in the Fun Run!

The Penberthy family getting ready to run this 5K.  Yup...they were smart and trained for it weeks prior to the event.

And the race begins.  Yes, we started out in last place!  We wanted to give everyone a fair chance before we crossed the finish line.

I survived!!  Steve and I ran part of the race, but walked for the rest.  I was happy that I finished under an hour(sad I know) and that I didn't let a 5 year old beat me.  My Lewiston friends Mandi and Allison would have gotten a good laugh out of this whole event.  They are pretty much amazing runners!!

Thanks PNWU for a great event!  We'll be back again next year!

St. Patty's Day

Today Brennan and I put together a couple of packages to send off in the mail.  We sent one package to my brother who is serving his mission in Sweden .  The other went to my sister Emily who is living in Rexburg while her husband is going to school at BYU-I.

Here is their addresses.  Feel free to send them junk mail!

For my brother Jake we put little St. Patty's Day gifts for him since it is the month of March.  For some reason I LOVE St. Patricks Day.  We decided to send him some chocolate coins, leprechaun window stickers, and some green mints.  Enjoy Elder Leavitt!

A couple weeks ago we got to stay with my sister and her husband for a couple days.  It was great!  Brennan loves to color (on my walls) and place stickers.  He made his Aunt Emily and Uncle Tucker a sweet drawing with lots of stickers.  We also sent them...

A sentsy travel tin.  BEST car air freshner ever!  It lasts a long time and they smell great.  They are also great for keeping kids entertained.  I throw it in the back and Brennan loves to open and close the tin and poke the gel inside.  It keeps him happy and he smells great afterwards.

Snow Castle

Here is a little taste of our weekend.  It was AWESOME!  Steve had spent all week studying for tests so we would only get to see him about 10 minutes a day (no joke)!  It was such a treat to hang out with him all weekend.  Right now we are living in Yakima, WA where Steve is attending medical school at PNWU.  Steve is always studying so this weekend was a great excuse for a getaway.  We only had to travel an hour to get to....

White Pass ski resort

where they had a HUGE snow castle

with a sledding hill
(notice Brennan at the bottom ready to tackle the next sledder down the hill)

We had an awesome day of being KING of the castle.

Brennan feeding the fish (his hand of course)

And stomping in the snow!

What a great day.  I can't wait to do it again next year!
